Jessica L. Adams, Founder & Executive Director
Hi! I’m Jess, the Founder and Executive Director of the St. Louis Alliance for Period Supplies, an initiative of the St. Louis Area Diaper Bank. I am so excited that the growth of the Diaper Bank - which I started at my kitchen table in the spring of 2014 - has led to the development of this new initiative.
My desire to start a diaper bank in St. Louis began to grow after I learned about the work the National Diaper Bank Network was doing to alleviate the diaper need experienced by 1 in 3 mothers across the country - hundreds of thousands of women who routinely lack the diapers they need to keep their children clean and dry. My real passion for this work, however, grew out of my own experience of living in poverty as a single mom of four. In those days I struggled to provide everything my children needed, but the most horrifying and humiliating experience was knowing that I couldn’t purchase the diapers my youngest child needed (he’s 10 now, in the green shirt in the picture). I knew that I needed to do something to ensure that other mothers wouldn’t have to struggle the way I did. Since our founding, we’ve helped change over 2M diapers for 60,000+ kiddos in the STL metro.
Now, as an allied partner with the National Alliance for Period Supplies, the Diaper Bank has the opportunity to impact the lives of tens of thousands of people with periods in the metro area - providing the supplies they need to fully participate in their lives with confidence and dignity.
Nowadays, if I’m not at the warehouse, you can find me at home with my husband and five kids in Tower Grove South in a house full of books, legos and laundry. If you’d like to connect, you can reach me on my phone at 314-229-5173 or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org
Cooper Lumpkin, Program Manager
Hi! I’m Cooper, the Program Manager of the St. Louis Alliance for Period Supplies, an initiative of the St. Louis Area Diaper Bank. I am so grateful to be a part of the team.
I grew up in Little Rock, Arkansas and moved to St. Louis to get a master’s degree from Covenant Theological Seminary. During my time here my heart has grown so much for the different kinds of community development work that I have been exposed to through churches, non-profits, and businesses in St. Louis. I feel privileged to be able to play a small part in serving this community. My hope for our impact in this city is that every day more and more women, children, and families can flourish without the stress of their health, happiness, or dignity being at risk.
This season of my life has been full of exciting changes. Most notably, I got married to the most beautiful girl I have ever known, Celena, on March 16th, 2019. Our days are as hectic and joyful as I could ask for.
